Chantry Health now in Wales!

Last year I decided it was the perfect time to relocate Chantry Health to Wales. West Wales in the Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion area. It’s a wonderful part of the world and another development for Chantry Health.

Chantry Health has moved to West Wales

Wales is Beautiful!

If you’ve been here you will know that Wales is stunning. Beautiful rolling countryside and a jaw-droppingly gorgeous coastline. The market towns and villages are friendly and there is so much to discover and enjoy.

I’ve taken some photos of the local countryside to share with you – enjoy!

The way of life in West Wales

Sussex has been my home for decades. I still love it there and visit to catch up with friends, and my favourite places. I’d been thinking around relocating and have friends here in Wales. When I visited I was struck by the more relaxed pace of life and how friendly people are here. But there is also a lot going on, it’s a vibrant community.

Coast path Aberporth, CeredigionHere in rural West Wales there is a real appreciation of local and quality food, art, music, crafts and the countryside. And rugby of course!

This is an area with a very high percentage of Welsh speakers. I love this and am slowly leaning everyday words and phrases. It’s a very different sounding and ancient language, melodic and engaging. The Welsh language is a core part of the nation’s identity. I’m delighted that there is such a passion for not just keeping it alive but increasing the number of Welsh speakers. Diolch yn fawr (thank you very much) to all those who have been patiently teaching me!

Welsh Connections!

I’m part Welsh so being here has felt very comfortable. I feel in sync, which is lovely. Our family connection is in North Wales and I’m really looking forward to getting to know even more of mid and north Wales in the coming months and years. There’s a lot to explore.

Being part Irish too, I’ve always joked that I’m ok with wet weather. Without wishing to tempt fate, it doesn’t feel that different weather-wise to Sussex. Hopefully fewer hose-pipe bans!

Where in West Wales?

River walk, Ceibwr, CeredigionNestled on a hillside, my nearest town is Newcastle Emlyn, which is right on the Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion boarder. There are a number of villages nearby, and each stroll or drive offers stunning scenery and new discoveries along the rolling hills and valleys of the Teifi Valley.

The coast is a short drive, with relaxed and timeless coastal villages within easy reach for a beach walk, ice cream and dolphin watching.

Chantry Health Wales & Working Online

Foxgloves in bloom, CarmarthenshireOver the months as I’ve been working online with patients from Sussex and further afield I’ve been letting them know about my move. I’ve really appreciated how kind and supportive people have been.

Online Consultations work well and have been part of my practice for many years, well before the recent upheaval. Most people already use WhatsApp and it’s so easy to use for video calls. I intend to continue offering online consultations so that wherever people are in the UK, or internationally, they can work with me.

I’m also getting to know people here in Wales and looking forward to growing my practice here too.
